Methodology
The UdeA Terminology Data Bank provides a bilingual resource for linguistic mediators (translators, technical writers, interpreters, and other communicators) and members of the university community who must communicate terms in their daily lives, in English or Spanish, related to academic and administrative activity from Universidad de Antioquia.
The terms included have been selected from a textual corpus in Spanish and English with university documentation of an academic-administrative nature. Currently, the bank has 678 terms in Spanish with their equivalents in English, most of them documented in real contexts of use and some others are the result of neological constructions. Entries belong to the following topic areas:
Academic administration

Additionally, some names with extensive institutional knowledge related to the institutional activity of the Universidad de Antioquia are included.
The information included in each term in Spanish is the grammatical category, the equivalents in English, and, in some cases, denominative variants (synonyms or acronyms) used within the university context.
This resource has been completely developed with the Terminus 2.0 system, developed by the IULATERM research group (Lexicon and Technology) of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Spain). This tool allowed the constitution and analysis of the corpus, preparation of terminological files, review and export to online vocabulary format, and incorporation into the UdeA Terminological Data Bank.
